doing some spring cleaning with my dying macbook & i found some really interesting scraps from my past. amongst the many treasures, i found the very first original recording of ”devotion in reality”.

when i wrote the song, i remember being absolutely heartbroken & smitten at the same time by this guy i was unhealthily in love with. devotion in the real world is nothing pleasant. in fact, i don’t think i’ve ever given in or swallowed my pride more with anyone else. i guess, if you promised yourself to devote - you’d just have to bite the bullet & roll with the punches. 

“love is patient, love is kind. it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. it does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.”

anywho, i don’t really know where this is really going but i thought i’d just remind myself what love really means & what a promise of love really is as well.
