yup, i’m bringing the Team Magneto or Team Xavier debate here & yup, this is only coming up cause i just watched the new x-men movie. before you go any further into this blog post, i’d like to tell you that everyone dies in the movie. if you don’t want any more spoilers, revisit here after you’ve watched it. No reason for anyone to not catch it. its supremely one of the better marvel movies. 4 and a half stars from me.

so as i was saying…. Charles Xavier being a bad guy isn’t a very new concept. in fact it was a pretty popular theory in the late 80s by many of the x-men fans. Just google ” Professor Xavier is a jerk” & you’ll get all the different arguments. anywho, the “can of worms” on my agenda would be the motion/prediction that “Charles Xavier is (going to be) the REAL evil villain of the new X-men trilogy.”

This whole thought was first brought to me by my friends Kenneth & Lang. 

Unlike Erik Lensherr (Magneto), Charles was born with a silver-frakking-diamond-encrusted spoon stuck in his mouth. He never had to suffer misfortune or ever had to face the rejection of being a mutant. In fact, its his abilities that have evidently served him well with the ladies.

Having little parentally love doens’t count as misfortune for him cause HE CAN BLOODY READ THEIR MINDS. I’m not saying that its right for his parents to be negligent, i agree its a damn shame but with abilities like that, he could probably dig sufficient reason for some personal closure. Beside if that isn’t enough, i’m sure he could learn to mind control his parents to to show some love. But i doubt he could live with that either.

So what i’m really trying to say is that i absolutely love how the new X-men movie has a more “realistic” portrayal of Charles Xavier. Cause, there are plenty of portrayals/interpretations of Magneto but we always keep getting the same ol’ ever gracious mother Theresa act from Professor X. I like that this time round, he’s portrayed as a flawed human being. That he is not some MORAL MESSIAH who purely champions for equality & world piece.

I always thought it was you and me against the world, but no matter how bad the world gets.. you don’t want to be against it. You want to be a part of it.

I love the fact that the movie was able to capture how Charles & Erik’s friendship was forged and how they were both very much attracted to each other for fellowship. Like how Charles helped Erik “free his mind” (imagine me saying this with Morpheus’s hand gestures from The Matrix). While i believe for Charles, he was attracted to Erik due to how interesting of a character he is. He felt his hurt, his suffering & above all Erik’s will was probably too strong for him to fully penetrate his mind & “figure him out” (evidence to claim: he couldn’t get Erik to let go of the Submarine without having physically hold him down & “invade” his mind or.. how he needed to ask permission to access his deepest memory). 

So where am i really taking this right? Well, i guess i’m kind of hopeful to see a more “sinister” or imperfect portrayal of Professor Xavier. i’d like to see them reveal his manipulative overlording tendency & excising more of his MIB memory wiping authority. Who knows, maybe even bring in…

Now you see where i’m going with this!!!! IMAGINE ONSLAUGHT IN THE AVENGERS MOVIE!!! It makes total sense, since the Avengers did too went up against Onslaught & Thor did freed the Professor. 

But its probably all just wishful thinking since i’ve been hearing all the rumours of who the villains are gonna be for the Avengers movie. Last i heard, the confirmed list is Loki & Skrull. My next best bet would be Thanos, cause that would be bad-ass!! That and there was a cameo of the Cosmic Cube & Infinity Gauntlet on the Thor movie.

Zesta & Domino’s Pizza for the awesome first class treatment at the Grand Cathay’s Platinum Movie Suites to catch the X-men Flick.

i dont think i’ve ever been to a cinema and ever felt THIS pampered.

Leonard & I were pretty much enjoying the royalty treatment and the yummy new Domino Pizza. Food just kept rolling and rolling and rolling in. We were nearly needed to be rolled in the cinema too.

Hot dang, the seats in the cinema were just to die for la. Opulent, absolutely excessive but damn did it felt shiok.

well thanks so much for the experience & the movie. hopefully, i’ll get some tickets to go watch Harry Potter’s premiere. SOOOO GONNA DRESS UP FOR THAT! i should really start on making my robe. anyways before i go (for real now), i’ll share this here. Once again, cheers to Kenneth Woo for sending it my way. <3
